Celtic Dragon Tattoo Meaning

The Meaning of Celtic Dragon Tattoo

A Celtic dragon tattoo draws on symbolism from traditional Celtic folklore and art. In Celtic myths, dragons often represented wisdom, power and protection.

Celtic dragons were usually depicted as serpentine creatures with elaborate, knotted designs on their scales. Getting one of these intricate dragons inked can symbolize embracing ancestral cultural symbols of guardianship and intelligence.

Some also see the Celtic dragon as a sign of personal growth and transformation. As the dragons in myths would shape-shift, the tattoo denotes constant learning and bettering oneself even through life's challenges.

Overall, opting for an ornate Celtic dragon design expresses connecting to rich Celtic traditions through a strong, enduring symbol of change and safekeeping. Its scrolling lines and protective strength represent heritage as well as virtues like knowledge, perseverance and fluidly adapting to life's twists.
